What We Believe

Immanuel is a Confessionally Reformed Baptist Church. Our teaching standards adhere to the 1689 London Baptist Confession.

We do not require full subscription to the 1689 for membership, but we do ask our members to respect our teaching standards, and not teach or advocate to their contrary in a manner that would disrupt unity or sow division. As our teaching standard, the 1689 Confession is a summation of sound biblical doctrines which we will steadfastly hold to in all preaching, teaching, and counseling.

As the great Reformed Baptist preacher, Charles Spurgeon said, “This little volume (1689 LBC) is not issued as an authoritative rule, or code of faith, whereby you are to be fettered, but as an assistance to you in controversy, a confirmation in faith, and a means of edification in righteousness. …Cleave fast to the Word of God which is here mapped out for you.”
